Suspension Rumour Aimed at Defaming us, We’re for a Better Oyo State-Oyo Assembly APC Caucus

The APC caucus of the Oyo State House of Assembly has refuted the rumour flying around claiming that they and some other members from the ruling party were set to be suspended by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin on account of false petition.

In a release made available to this news outlet, the Minority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Salami Waliu, representing Irepo/Olorunsogo state constituency denied the rumour and said the House in its entirety remain united and are poised to continue to advance the collective interests of Oyo people.

In his words, he said, “Things like this are bound to happen in governance. We agree to disagree, all things being equal. We are not after the disunity of the House. Oyo State House of Assembly is one of the most peaceful in the whole country and that is as a result of the unity within the House.”

“False rumours spread faster and if not properly managed could create unnecessary apprehension in the polity. As a caucus, we are progressive and so keen to better the lots of our constituents in sayings and doings.”

“Truly, we got elected under different political platforms but we are pursuing a common goal in the best interest of the good people of Oyo State. We will continue to do this as long as the living conditions of our people are not jeopardized. Personal aggrandizement is not the reason for our coming but to contribute our own quota to the development of Oyo State through effective law making and other legislative processes.

The lawmaker concluded by admonishing the good people of Oyo State to dispel rumours and avoid spreading such to ensure peaceful co-existence of the members of the Oyo State House of Assembly, their party members and the State at large.
